Behavior Expectations:
At Huntingtowne Farms we are Responsible, Respectful and Caring. We can be RESPECTFUL by following our Essential Agreements created by our class at the beginning of the school year.
OUR ESSENTIAL AGREEMENTS: (decided upon and written by the children)
We will be RESPONSIBLE by-
*taking care of ourselves and classroom items
*doing our school work and home work
*challenging ourselves....THINK, THINK, THINK!
We will be RESPECTFUL by-
*listening to the teacher and our classmates
*raising our hands and not shouting out
We are CARING by-
*being friendly and helpful
*treating people the way we want to be treated!
Behavior Chart:
We try to stress positive behavior. This year we will only have the "positive" colors on our behavior chart: purple, blue, green. Your child will begin each day on green. Green means "I am ready to Learn" and is where most children will be at the end of the day. Children can be moved up for showing positive behaviors (blue and, then purple). If a child is having a tough day and misbehaving, a Reflection Sheet will be completed by the child explaining what he/she did to break the essential agreements and how they can do better. Please check their Orange Take Home folders everyday for their "behavior color" and sign your name. This lets me know that YOU know how your child is behaving.
Please note: I try and address behavior issues in the classroom. These children are second graders and will make mistakes....that's what makes them kids. I will contact you if I see a pattern of bad behavior that is becoming an issue affecting the class or your child's learning. This is usually pretty rare in my class ;) !
